Colour
and texture have always fascinated me. I was a freelance interior
and graphic designer for many years, and enjoyed selecting colours
and materials for shops, exhibitions, offices and hotel refurbishments
- whether it was rough tiles for a restaurant, knobbly fabric for
an office reception to shimmering silks for a luxury apartment.
Now
as a full time artist I am constantly experimenting with soft pastels
- my favourite medium - sometimes mixing vibrant pastel with watercolour,
acrylics and metallics creating stunning effects of bold colour
and texture.
 My
flower pictures have been reproduced by publishers on cards and
prints and are sold worldwide. images from my one woman show in
New York have been reproduced by Amcal in California for their 1998,1999
and 2001 calendars and an associated range of greetings cards. For
2002 they printed a wall calendar, a perpetual calendar and
cards. Recently another American firm, Modernart, has reproduced
many flower images as large prints.
Life
drawing is another passion and at present I am exploring light effects,
reflections and movement of the figure. Four of these images have
now been produced as limited edition prints and are being sold worldwide.
I
am a member of the Society of Botanical Artists and my work is shown in various mixed and shared exhibitions
in London and occasionally outside London. For many years
I have shared a two man show at the Llewellyn Alexander gallery.
I had a solo show at Jensen Fine Arts, New York, and took part in
a mixed exhibition in Nantucket USA, both organised by Stephanie
Hoppen.
My
work is in private collections in the UK, France, Jersey, America,
Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Tiawan and Japan. |
